Jesus Assures Them Concerning His Coming Again

Jesus Assures Them Concerning His Coming Again

Free Bible Study: The Harmony of the Gospels

Study the life of Jesus through the inspired word of the Gospel writers. Every verse of the Gospels of Mathew, Mark, Luke and John was written to tell His story, so that we can know Him and find salvation through faith in Him.

v  Use for daily Bible study

v  Use as a commentary on the four gospels

v  Use to teach the Life of Christ

In 1 Peter 5:8, the apostle classified Satan as a “roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” This verse took on new meaning after interviewing a man who had just returned from Africa. He noted lions are nocturnal animals and most of their hunting is done at night. A conversation with my friends at the Houston Public Library Research Center confirmed his insight. Lions do not hunt exclusively at night, but most of their hunting does occur under the cloak of darkness. Their eyesight is designed for preying on unsuspecting victims in the dark. No wonder Peter spoke of the deceiver as a lion. It was in the dark, away from Christ, that he fell prey to the temptation of denial. When we drift from the light and start loitering in the shadows we become easy prey for the lurking lion. Stay out of the dark and you will have a much greater chance of staying alive.
