Plucked Corn Precipitates Sabbath Controversy— Throughout His ministry, Jesus was accused of breaking the Sabbath laws, and it is true that He broke them. They were part of the old covenant that God made with Israel. He had come to bring a new covenant based on grace. He broke the Sabbath laws and the disciples followed His example. He healed on the Sabbath and He worked and traveled on the Sabbath.
